Quick answer: A boneless sofa is a frameless couch made entirely of foam. It's vacuum-compressed into a box, needs no assembly, and expands to full size after unboxing. A cloud sofa is a deep, oversized couch with extra-plush cushions. At Multi Market World in Richmond Hill, boneless sectionals start at $339 CAD and cloud-style sofas range from $599 to $999 CAD (prices as of October 2026), with free delivery across Canada. You can see them at our showroom at 111 Granton Dr, Unit 101, with same-day delivery in Richmond Hill and Markham.
What is a boneless sofa?
A boneless (or "compressed") sofa has no rigid wooden or metal frame. It's built from high-density or memory foam, wrapped in fabric, then vacuum-compressed at the factory and packed into a box. When you open it at home, the foam expands back to its full shape.
Why people in Toronto choose them:
- Fits through condo doors and elevators. The box is much smaller than a framed sofa, so it's easier to get through narrow hallways, stairwells and condo elevators.
- No assembly. Unbox it, remove the plastic, and let it expand.
- Lower price. Smaller packaging means cheaper shipping and handling, which keeps prices down.
- Modular options. Many boneless sectionals come in pieces you can rearrange.
What is a cloud sofa?
"Cloud sofa" describes a style rather than a construction method. These are deep, low, oversized couches with very plush, puffy cushions designed for sinking in and lounging. Some cloud sofas are boneless and compressed, and others have a traditional frame.

How to choose
- Small condo or apartment: a compressed loveseat (63") or the pumpkin cloud loveseat.
- Family room on a budget: the 98.4" or 104" boneless sectional with chaise.
- Want to rearrange often: the 118" 4-piece modular boneless sectional.
- Maximum lounging: the 120" modular cloud sofa with ottoman.
Tips for unboxing a compressed sofa
- Open the box in the room where the sofa will go. It's much harder to move once it has expanded.
- Cut the plastic carefully. Don't use a sharp blade close to the fabric.
- Give it time to expand. Our 104" sectional, for example, reaches full size within 24 hours.

FAQ
Are boneless sofas comfortable?
Yes. They're made entirely of foam, so the seat feels soft and even, with no bars or springs. Memory-foam models, like our 104" sectional, add extra support.
How long does a compressed sofa take to expand?
Usually within 24–72 hours, depending on the model and room temperature. Our 104" boneless sectional expands within 24 hours.
Do boneless sofas need assembly?
No. You unbox them and let them expand. Modular models just need the pieces pushed together.
Can I return a sofa?
All sales are final, except factory defects reported within 7 days of receiving your item. That's why we recommend visiting our showroom to try sofas first. See our Refund Policy.
Do you deliver boneless sofas to Toronto?
Yes, for free. Delivery across Ontario, including Toronto, takes 1–3 business days. Richmond Hill and Markham get same-day delivery.
